Nutritional and Dietary Information
NOTE: We do not advocate ANY change in diet or eating habits without the FULL consultation with your Specialist, GP and Dietician. What I am sharing with you is my PERSONAL experiences with these changes to MY own lifestyle, that I feel has improved the quality of my lifestyle. I would like to see any contributions from others.
1) PROBIOTICS – LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION
I have already mentioned on Facebook that I feel there is a PERSONAL benefit with this product which can be bought from any good health food shop or the like. There are various strengths and I personally look for the ACIDOPHILUS (20 BILLION DOSE).
2) COCONUT OIL FOR ALL COOKING – LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION
Coconut oil contains natural saturated fats that increase the good HDL cholesterol in your body. They may also help turn the bad LDL cholesterol into a less harmful form. By increasing HDL, many experts believe that coconut oil could be good for heart health compared to many other fats.
With its high flash point for cooking and low smoking it is, PERSONALLY, an easier fat to digest with a medium chain triglyceride. This helps with keeping meals low fat as well.
3) BOILING MEAT BEFORE COOKING
Meat used to be preserved in salt which had all the minerals our body needed. These days cold meat such as bacon, pork, fish and many others are all mostly preserved with chemicals. The best way to remove this is to pre-boil your meat until you see the white milky liquid and foamy scum on the top. This needs to be poured off and meat rinsed. The boiling water is then thrown away before further frying or cooking. This will get rid of most of the preservatives. This is my PERSONAL choice that I have found to help.
4) FRUIT, VEGETABLES AND HERBS
Nearly all our fruit these days are subject to preservatives and chemicals. The best way to rid these from your fruit and vegetables is to soak ALL fruit and vegetables (EXCEPT soft fruit such as strawberries and blueberries etc) in an solution of A QUARTER CUP of Bi-Carbonate of Soda to TWO litres of water and soak for at least 50mins to an hour, before rinsing and drying,
All I can say is that when you first see the scum and dirt that comes off your soaked items you will never go back to eating fruit, vegetables and herbs without doing this first. This is my PERSONAL choice that I have found to help.
5) PORK AND ALL ITS DERIVATIVES
It has been stated by Prof John Neoptolemos that we should actively avoid these where possible, as these meats contain the HIGHEST forms of fat that we would find hard to digest,
